Two Benefits Of Purchasing A Pre-Owned Chrysler

Posted on

Buying a used Chrysler can save you quite a bit of money, but that's not the only benefit you can obtain from purchasing a certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicle. Here are two additional reasons why choosing a pre-owned Chrysler is a better option than buying from a private seller or opting for a non-CPO vehicle.

Transferrable Warranty

Certified pre-owned Chryslers already undergo 125-point inspections to ensure there is no major damage that affects operation or safety, and worn out or missing parts are typically replaced. This significantly reduces the risk you'll get a vehicle that will have nothing but problems. However, as added protection against issues that may develop during your ownership, you'll also receive the remainder of the 7-year/100,000 powertrain warranty that came with the vehicle when it was new.

This means that if the Chrysler vehicle you're purchasing is 4 years old, you'll continue to enjoy another three years of that warranty, and it transfers to any buyer you sell or give the vehicle to, which may earn you more money.

Additionally, a Chrysler CPO also comes with a Maximum Care Warranty that covers vehicle repairs for three months/3,000 miles and starts on the day you buy your Chrysler from the dealership. So any problems missed during the inspection will be covered if you discover them after you've taken the vehicle home.

Supplementary Services

A second benefit to purchasing a certified pre-owned Chrysler is the vehicles in the program also come with bonus services. You'll receive roadside assistance, a car rental allowance, a Carfax report, and free SiriusXM satellite radio. This can ease some of the worry associated with purchasing a new or used vehicle.

For instance, the roadside assistance program will send someone out to fix your flat tire, provide you with gas if you run out, and jump your battery. If your vehicle needs to be repaired, you can rent a temporary replacement for the days it's in the shop and get reimbursed up to $35 per day (a maximum of $175).

If you feel like you need more coverage, you can purchase optional additional protection plans that include trip interruption coverage, routine maintenance, dent repair, and replacement tires.

Be aware, though, that some of these services may be required to pay a deductible to take advantage of some of these services. Be sure to read the fine print of the contract before signing it to ensure you're aware of any and all fees associated with the product.
